Okefenokee Swamp Canoeing - January 15th-18th

Posted by jwhite on Nov 16 2020 - 4:54pm

During our recent planning meeting the scouts discussed a canoeing trip to the Okefenokee over the January 15th-18th long weekend. This would be a great new venue and would allow the scouts to gain some paddling experience and see a neat wilderness area.

Youth Protection Training for all Adults

Posted by jwhite on Nov 16 2020 - 3:26pm

Youth Protection training must be taken every two years, and most adults in the troop need to go ahead and retake the course.

You do not have to be a registered adult to take this training, but everyone working with the boys or attending trips are required to be updated on their Youth Protection training. This training is for the boy's protection as well as yours.

Log into the following link for your training.  If you do not have an account, then you can create one.

Friends of Scouting

Posted by jwhite on Jun 15 2020 - 2:05pm

Friends of Scouting is our Council’s annual giving campaign to provide a lot of the resources, camps, and programs our Scouts enjoy throughout the year.

Each family will have a chance to make a donation to support Scouting, and we’d like to have 100% participation from our parents and leaders. This is different from our yearly registration fees, and all of the money raised stays within the Atlanta Area Council to help Scouts in Atlanta.

Attached is a PDF pledge card.  You can also give online at https://www.atlantabsa.org/fos
